Calling All Morgan Youth!
June 18th – 20th 2010

We’d like to invite you to a "Weekend of Morgans" at Flintlock Farm.  This event is for you if you love Morgans, if you want to know what is available to AMHA youth, and if:

~  You’re working on your horse mastership badge requirements and want to get a whole lot of testing done.
~  You want to compete in a “Youth of the Year” Contest.
~  You want to meet other youth who love Morgans as much as you do.

Our plan:

Friday:  Talk about all the cool stuff you can do with Morgans, and have a discussion with representatives
from Region 10 about any ideas you have for improving the program.

Saturday:  Work on badge requirements for the Horse mastership program.

Sunday:  “Youth of the Year” contest.

Cost:   $70 *Cost includes meals, lodging, materials and t-shirt.

Contact:  Hailey Garbee - 434-660-9849 ~  3066 Lawyers Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24510 or haileyg@vt.edu, or search the event on Face book!

January 2010

We had a rare pleasure here in Chapel Hill as we received a full blanket of snow on January 31st.  So we took full advantage of it with Tashota's Black Dove, a twenty-five year old Morgan mare, shown here with Rob Marsh and his daughter Zoie enjoying a rare sleigh ride in NC. The cutter used is about 100 years old and was brought here from NJ.

December 2009

Promoting youth activity, horseback riding and the Morgan horse, the Flintlock Youth Group participated in the Chapel Hill Christmas Parade.  Just one of many fun and social events planned and participated in here at Flintlock.

November 2009

We are happy to announce the sale of one of our homebred horses, Flintlocks Envy. Envy is now part of the loving home of Elisabeth Henry-Macari of Hunter, NY. We wish them both the best and a long lasting relationship.

We also want to congratulate all the other new owners who have purchased horses in our barn this year:
    1) Radiance Imagine Spring to Judy Swingen of VA.
    2) Head over Heels to the Kearns family of Chapel Hill, NC.
    3) Ryan's Star Beam to Debra Zakrajsek of Chapel Hill, NC
    4) Sixth Sense to Bruce and Marge Petsch of Cary, NC
    5) Flintlocks Othello to Louise Copley in Vancouver, BC

June 2009

We are glad to report that two of our mares are confirmed in foal for 2010.

TTMF Bellacocious is in foal to Lamborghini In Black.
Flintlocks That Girl is in foal to Flintlocks Master Mind!
(We decided to have some fun and do a "in farm" deal.)

With great anticipation we look forward to the healthy arrival of these foals.

May 2009

We are always proud to support all aspects of our Southern States Morgan Horse Show held in Raleigh. We would like to recognize our wonderful lead line competitors: Zoie Marsh, Mari Kearns and Keaton Jaeger Clark who represented Flintlock Farm this year and made us very proud.

April 2009

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our second foal of 2009.  The filly pictured here is sired by Ben's Rhapsody and out of our mare Indian Creek Windstar.
